8/9 Tokyo Matsuri

Matsuri = Festival / Fair


The main street.


There's food and games at matsuri and lots of people wear yutaka and kimono.


Lots of gaijin show up to this matsuri. (Gaijin = Foreigners)


Unlike American fairs, these matsuri are held in the streets or near temples. Although, sometimes you'll find them in a field like the ones we're used to.

You commonly see people will food, since there's so much to eat.


Though, they tend to get crowded.

There's also taiko drums playing and dancing in the background.

When a matsuri is happening, trains and streets are closed off and the city is basically shut down.


This is a stand for octopus and other sea foods.
