:Races:

Shadows: People who remain dead and under en-slavement or haven't been reborned because the human is living.
Shadow people: 'humans' that are slaves to humans or higher ups.
Humans: Plain old people with POWAH over shadow people.
Animals: These arnt ordinary. They are people in disguise.

PART 1

Blood, Tears, Money. That’s all that matters in this business, kill and get paid, no questions asked. that’s all it takes. Oh well and a pull of the trigger of what ever gun or slice of the blade that you are given. Not to hard. Until you find out what you’ve been working for is a lie.

“No, no please miss! Tell your boss well have it by Thursday! We-we promise!” the professor yelled in terror.
“Alright, Fine.” Devon sighed. “We can give you till Thursday. But if you lie.” she motions around her neck then tills her head to the left.
“Y-yes ‘mam!” he stood up and ran to the 3 other professors shuddering in terror behind him.
Devon chuckled and turned away her coat making a loud snap noise to add to the fear. “What worthless beings.” she muttered.
“Yes very…” a voice called to her.
She took three steps forward then stopped and looked into the shadow “Good day Vice.” she said simply then walking to her car.
“How’ve you been deary?” He asked molting from the shadows, his eerie eyes peering from his mask watching her every move.
“better.” she said keeping the talking to the least she could, she knew if she got into a conversation with him there was no getting away.
Vice sighed “Talk to me. What happened was ancient history.”
“Not in my book.” she slammed the door in his face and turning the car on immediately as she did so. “leave.”
Vice shrugged and decided to give up “Good luck.” he said, his eyes smiling down at her.
She bolted away in seconds flat leaving nothing but dust by Vice. She sighed again then ruffled her hair ‘next person isn’t gonna go down easy.’ she thought holding he pistol in hand. ‘at least they gave me a gun.’ she stopped at one of the biggest hotels in the city.
“mam? Do you have a room k----”
She left without speaking to the teller and quickly ran up the stairs.
The teller shrugged it off like this happened daily and went back to work.

‘what number…’ she tried to remember ‘306.’ she slammed her fist against the door beside her and broke through the wood. “Hello?” she asked teasingly knowing they weren’t going to answer.
“Hello.” A dark voice called back.
‘wait… I-I know that voice!’ she said running away from the door.
Two arms grabbed her legs from the floor.
“Damn! Shadow Slaves!” She shot at them but it didn’t do any good. “God Damn it!”
“God. Had nothing to do with this.” the voice laughed “Oh Devon… or should I say…” he ripped off the back of her shirt “Demiverden.”

It started this way, and now it will end this way. He was the first Shadow ever made. Adam. But, once the person dies the shadow comes up and replaces that person. We look nothing like our counter parts so it’s a bit odd. But here’s the odd part if for any reason your person dies and you remain a shadow you become a slave to the ‘shadow people…’ we are slaves to the humans of this world but also to the main shadow. Adam… Alabaster… why did you create at this?

“AH!” Devon awoke from a horrible nightmare. “Huh?” she said rubbing her eyes and looking around “Wh-where am I?”
“At home.” Said Vice coldly “Stupid Girl.”
Devon looked down at her hands and fumbled around with her fingers. ”thanks.” she said nearly crying.
Vice came over and sat at the edge of her bed and wrapped his arms around her “Don’t cry.”
Devon threw herself into his arms and cried.
“Devon…” Vice sighed wrapping his arms around her tightly.

PART 2

“Evening came so quick it seemed like the day wasn’t real.” Devon says looking off her balcony into the deep blue ocean where the sun was setting and they sky was pink with touches of purple. “How much longer… How much longer until we are no good!” Devon cried.
Vice came over and held her hand/ “Shhh… we don’t need to talk about this right now.”
Devon sighed. “Yeah your right.” she looked over at him his mask still on but in normal ‘human’ clothes. “You know… I don’t think I have ever seen your face…”
Vice blushes of course un-noticeable to Devon but he laughed “Really? You don’t remember what I look like?”
Devon shakes her head “not at all.”
Vice shrugs “Doesn’t matter much.”
Devon then shrugs “Guess not.”
They stare off into the sunset together once enjoying each others company.
*knock Knock*
“Eh?” Devon turns to the door “Hello?”
The door opens and a lady pale all the white wall behind her in all black walks in. “Devon.” she then looks to Devon’s left “Vice.”
They both bow nervously.
(I wasn’t expecting fucking Eve over!) Devon said in a wary tone
(It’s ok! It’s probably nothing.) Vice says reassuringly
“Now who wants to explain why Adam is still on the loose?” Eve says plainly but in a cruel dark tone.
Devon lowers her head “My fault ‘mam.”
“Oh Devi dear! Did I give you the job!?” Eve says surprised “I thought gave Vice the job!”
Devon looks at Eve in dismay “wait… I wasn’t suppose to be there?”
“No-no Dear! We all know that Adam and you have issues, I don’t know why you got the job…” She says “Well I’m sorry for the mishap and I will be going. VICE!” she yells walking to the door.
Vice stands up straight “Ye-yes mam?”
“You find Waldo and tell him HE has the job.”
Vice hangs his head “Yes mam…”
Eve leaves in a fashionable manner her dress and her disappearing like a shadow.
“GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH who know where Waldo is!” Vice cries.

“Damn… Alabaster… what are you planning… I thought you were gonna kill her!” Eve yells at the screen.
“Estrallae… patience… learn some.” He laughed
“God I hate you! Stick to the plan!” Eve says upset with her once love.
“God. Has NOTHING! NOTHING! To do with this.” He turns off the transmission.
“… Pissy pants.” she says with a laugh.
