DYBIN Re-amped baby~

The night is calm, wary minds put to rest, lovers in each others arm, one last kiss and eyes flutter shut. The night is young and people are still out on the town, but even then, the city is getting ready for it’s sleep. Last dance song is called and all those love birds get their last dance in. such a warm night this is. I just wish, I could sleep. These nights I feel as though I slept for a minute. It must be these dreams… do others dream… like me…
Eyes re-open now in a dream, dazed, but awake. “why does it feel so real?” a question that can never be answered. She looks to the ground and kicks the floor scuffing it. “the noises, how real this feels to the touch….” she reaches out and touches a flowers petal. “So… real….”
A cool breeze passes by playing with her hair, she looks back. “why… is everything…” she stops, her eyes land on a shadow. Her own. “huh… even shadows.” she moves one arm, the shadow fallows. “can this be… a whole… a different world entirely?” she waves to the shadow. I didn’t fallow, right away, it seemed to wave back. “huh?” she said startled rubbing her eyes.
A smile formed where the mouth would be, but with larger, sharp canines for every tooth. She backed off. “w-what?!” the shadow stayed as she backed away, it began to stretch out and become taller than her, hands forming claws and spires from the head.
“Kehehehe.” the voice was dark and sharp. The shadow emerged from the ground standing on two legs still only a silhouette but it looked human “What? See a ghost?” it laughed.
The girl stared at it not blinking. “It’s… a… dream…” she took a deep breath.
“Don’t you know you can DIE in dreams?” it said excitedly
Intrigued by this specter of her dreams she was still leery of any action, it is a dream after all. “are you talking to me because your part of my dream and I’m making you talk, or, are you real?”
He smiled “All depends Alex. This is your mind, mind you.” he laughed.
‘he knows my name! how!? He must be part of my imagination…’ she smiled “so you are just my imagination”
He frowned “That hurts. It may seem that way girly, but, it’s not.”
“…. Dreams can’t be real.”
He tilted his head “so that means you wanting to work doing something with drawing is all for nothing? Shame.”
Her eyes widened “That’s not… what I meant.”
He stood their what seemed to be staring at her, he was still only a silhouette, not like it mattered either, it gave him a eerie charm, in a way. “what are you staring at?”
“… are you human?” she asked almost not wanting to know the answer.
“Why? Would this please you more?” he arched his back and grew 3 more feet hands turning into long pointed claws, his body slim, nearly stick like and his legs were bent apart about 3 feet long them self.
She stared at this for a moment then gulped “I… I-I.“ was the only thing that came out.
He leaned over face to face with her and smiled as wide as he could. “Better?” he cackled.
She fell backwards, and passed out.

*BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP*

“GAH!” Alex screamed smashing her table first looking for her alarm clock then missing it the first time she got it the second. “Oh jeez….” she rubbed her head. “I have the strangest dreams.” she said shrugging it off getting up for the new day…. Of school.

School, a place to learn. Naw. A place to sleep. People in the mornings here are zombies, high school sucks and everyone knows it.
‘better bring coffee today…’ Alex thought pouring herself a cup then running out to the bus.
The worst parts of school is the bus and first hour. Having an hour ride there and back isn’t that great, and to have a class right after you woke up isn’t the most pleasant thing to wake up to.
Walk into the doors with the other zombies the chuck yourself down right next to a friend or two and talk for twenty minutes about what happened that night or something you forgot to tell people about during the weekend, anything to fill the numbed and dazed people who you sat by.
“I had such a weird dream.” Alex said right as she plopped on the floor.
“About what?” one of her friends Kat inquired.
Kat is one of those people who you want to be good friends with, she kind and if you have a problem she can almost always fix it, physically or emotionally. Her hair is always a different color. During last winter it was black and red, right now its blue, which her mother hated.
Alex brushed out her blonde hair out with her finger “Some weird guy all in black talking to me about my dreams and then he turns into a tall stick… monster thing.”
Kat looked at her like she was on something “You feeling ok Hun?”
Alex cracked a smile “when don’t I have weird dreams.”
Kat shrugged then nodded “True.”
Danielle walked passed the two at break neck speed not glancing at either of them at the moment.
They watched her pass, like everyday.
She came back throwing her stuff on the ground, not short after sitting down herself, taking a sigh. Her brunet hair was a bit messy she tried to flatten it but it didn’t do any good, she rolled her eyes and puffed her freckled cheeks out as she organized her stuff.
Kat and Alex snickered “Rough morning.”
She glazed a stare over then back to her stuff “Dad woke me up late.”
“nice.” Kat said.
Alex completely changing the subject, flaps her arms around “Hey, hey Dani!”
She looked back up at her “What?”
“I had this weird dream about this guy in all black, I couldn’t see his face but he had ultra sharp teeth that glowed white, then he turned into this like 9 foot monster thing.”
Danielle looked at her worried “… so, what about this guy?”
“He talks about how my dreams are real… in a way.”
“dreams are real?” she tilts her head “… That would be pretty cool, I guess.”

*RINGRINGRING*

Everyone scattered, this year no one had the same classes. But the year was nearly over, next year might be better.
Slowly, slowly the hours passed and it finally got to the last hour of the day.
Alex laid her head on her desk trying to sleep, but, of course she could fall asleep in school. “this sucks….” she whined.
He friend sat beside her laughing “Well hi to you too.”
She looked over at him through a hole in between her arm and the desk and she gave him a slight glare. In which only made him laugh more.

School ended no sleep regained.
The bus ride home was dead most people who rode the bus weren’t on so the bus was silent, still she couldn’t sleep.
She got home and went downstairs to take a nap. Just plopped down and passed out.
“sleep… is…” she yawned curling up “what…. I….” eyes shut and she was dead asleep…”


Eyes reopen to a world of white, the sky is blue but the ground is white and all the objects were painted the same. No outlines, just white.
Alex got up and rubbed her eyes. “to bright…” she placed her arms to the sides of her, she looked down noticing she was warring a white dress. “eh?” she picked up the sides and spun around. It was pretty light.
He stood there watching her from a distance, but watching her. He smiled almost pleased to see her.
She spun and faced him “you know. You need a name. you got one?” she asked.
He was surprised she noticed him and slightly chuckled. “Actually I don’t.”
“how inconvenient.” she said putting her hands on her hips.
He popped up behind her “you should name me~” he said with a smile.
She jumped and backed away from him. “How did you…?” you’d think you would see a nine foot monster move from one point to the other.
He chuckle “It’s a dream. Don’t forget that.”
She sighed “you say that, then you say that your real. Your confusing.”
He smiled “I’m a monster, I’ll trick you until you die. You’re my amusement~”
She backed away from him. “Ok… well. Since your good at creeping on people, you need a creepy name… or it means something that suits you.”
He stares at her trying to see how long she’d last.
She looked up at him then back down “staring at me… stop…”
He continued.
“…. n…nnn urgh….” she fell to the ground.
“ALEX GOD DAMN IT DINNERS READY.” her mom yelled
“KIRI.” she yelled back in a frenzy.
Her mom looked at her weird then walked off.
“….. Kiri…?” she blinked “”Kiri.” she smiled. “that’s your name.”

Dinner, quiet like normal. TV was eating their souls like normal.
Alex poked at her beans and peas thinking about Kiri. She looked up at the TV then back at her plate moving the peas back and forth.
Her mom looked at her weird. “What’s up Ali?” she asked worried.
Alex looked over at her and smiled “It’s nothing mom-mom.” She said eating a pea then cringing, she didn’t like vegetables, only carrots.
Her mom stared at her for a moment then shrugged and went back eating.
Alex almost always the first one done went back down stairs after throwing away the paper plate along with a few beans and peas left on her plate. She walked down like a zombie that just got its fill of brain. She plopped back onto her bed and played her DS still thinking about Kiri. ‘Why am I still thinking about him, it’s just a dream.’ She sighed and rolled onto her back. ‘Yeah…’ she yawned ‘just… a dream…’

The land of color was waiting this time; the ground was green and the sky a Rust Orange and Scarlet Red, it was quite the sight. A warm breeze passed over Alex causing her to stir.
She roes up stretching as if she was just waking up, she looked around and saw the beautiful scenery that awaited her this night. She was awe struck. Looking all around her, there was a river along the left side and a field of flowers on the other with one large bolder, Kiri sitting a top of it.
He looked over at her, he wasn’t a monster this time, nor was he a silhouette; he showed what he really looked like this time. Pale white nearly ghost-like skin, black void fluffy hair that the light couldn’t even touch, the spire like horns almost seemed to be part of his hair, and of course his white canines brighter than his skin forming a smile, but, he did have eyes, they were covered by his hair. He wore black and red pinstriped pants, two belts held together by a skull buckle, black fishnet fingered gloves; his claws poked out of the fishnet and he wore a chain collar necklace, it seem broken at the end.
Alex studied him well. She tried to burn and image of him in her head so she wouldn’t forget so she could tell her friends.
He smiled and tilted his head at her, his hair following every action he did. “What are you staring at?”
Alex looked at his face “no eyes.”
He chuckled. “Is that so weird?”
“… Why would you ask that? Yes, yes it is.” She said puffing her cheeks out.
He chuckled “so you picked my name?”
She nodded “Yes, you are now Kiri.” She smiled “It suits you.”
He made a face like he was thinking then nodded “Mist.” He said with a smile.
Alex dumbfounded totally forgot that Kiri in Japanese meant Mist. Not like it matter, at least it would stick and it ‘seemed’ like she was trying to pick a name. She giggled.
Kiri tilted his head. “Why are you so happy? Do I need to scare ya?”
She waved her hands “No-no, I rather have a nice dream tonight, thanks.”
Kiri frowned “well tough.” He said
Alex looked confused “What?”
“This is my world. My amusement, my games.” He said transforming one of his hands to a claw.
“Hey-hey! This is my mind my dreams!” she said pointing at him.
He laughed “then stop me…” he turned into the monster he was and growled.
“…. SO UNFAIR” Alex yelled running off.
Kiri smiled “Ah, amusement!” he chased after her.

“Alex, ten minutes after six sweetie.” Her mom called, opening the door slightly.
Alex woke up feeling well rested for once “Kay mom…” she rolled back over under the covers and stared at the clock that had only said ‘6:05’. She murmured something inaudible then sat back up “I forgot to set my alarm clock, how odd.”
She got upstairs and ate a muffin one of the many sweets her mom had made.
Her brother bumbling like a large oxen came down the stairs. He groaned and laid himself down on the couch.
Alex looked over at him then looked back for the bus to come.
Stephen, her brother, was taller and larger than her, he was beginning to grow a mullet (which their mother hated) his brunet hair was always silky smooth and shined in the light, and he had a small moustache that never seemed to disappear even when shaved.
The bus passed by the first time and the two ran out to catch it the second, when I went around the tree farm to pick them up and the kid down the street.

Alex got to the pole first and sat down back against it. She took in a breath and it came out as a relieved sigh.
Danielle was right behind her and sat down next to her.
Alex smiled over to her then went wide eyed “Oh! Oh! I had another dream!”
Danielle stared at her “Ok, what was it about.”
Alex giggled “Kiri.”
“… Who?” she asked
“Oh yeah… you wouldn’t know his name…” she says with a laugh.
She stared at her then backed away a bit.
“The creepy guy who says dreams are real.”
“Oh, him.”
“Yeah, yeah! So last night….” She explains the whole 2 dreams to her then the bell rings. “… Where’s Kat?”
Allison passes by, late today. “She’s sick.” Allison was one of their friends, she is another person who would stick up for you if you are her friend and knowing karate, well, maybe it’s a better idea if you don’t fight against her. She has long black hair, wore down or up and always wearing her pink and black cat ears.
“Awe that’s too bad.” Alex said, Danielle nodding then running off to her first hour.
“Yeah, well got to go.” Allison said going in the opposite direction.
Alex walked of to her class and started to draw…

Sixth hour came about and of course instead of doing homework, Alex and her friend Jesse talked instead.
“I’ve been having these strange dreams lately.” Alex started.
Jesse looked up from his paper, he was actually doing his work for once “About what?” he was always curious about her, anything really.
“This guy…” she tells him about the dreams “And he looks like this.” She holds up a picture she drew of him earlier that day.
“… Creepy.” He said taking the paper.
“You think that’s creepy, He turns into this stick, thing… monster and terrorizes me!” she says waving her arms Jesse laughing at her. “What?”
“It’s only a dream, silly girl.” He said shrugging.
“…. I’VE TRIED TO TELL MYSELF THAT IT DOESN’T WORK!” She poked his side.
He jumped then poked her back “hey, don’t take this out on me.”
She jumped “Well, you started it.”
They share a laugh then class ended and the school day was over…
